ONLINE SANGHA

Start the day well

We meet online Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 8.30 am for a guided morning meditation in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh from his book The Blooming of a Lotus. This is followed by a short metta practice. Our focus is to help you develop a strong sitting meditation practice.

On Saturdays we meet 8.00 am to 8.30 am for silent mediitation practice. Instruction is provided.

All sessions are open to beginners as well as experienced practitioners. You can attend as many sessions as you would like. We ask that you arrive between 7.55 and 8.00 for any session that you wish to attend.

All sessions are free but donations are appreciated. Donations help to cover the cost of Zoom etc. and any surplus will be sent to Plum Village, France.

To find out more get in touch through the contact page. If you are unable to join us use the meditation resources to support your practice.

OUR STORY

We started in 2007 as a group of local people in the Yorkshire Dales meeting weekly to practice meditation and running occasional Days of Mindfulness in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. We welcome people from all backgrounds including beginners as well as experienced meditators.

Our aspiration is to bring mindfulness concentration and insight to daily living. To be mindful means to dwell in the present moment, to be aware of what is going on within and around us.

Since the lockdown began we moved online and now attract participants from all over the world. We meet online only from Monday to Saturday 8.00 to 8.30 am.

The word 'Sangha' means community . We welcome anyone willing to practice. Our online gatherings are a place to cultivate understanding, love compassion and joy.
